UPDATE – CONGRATULATIONS!

On Friday the 13th Ugli’s own Jason Lenox and wife Crystal welcomed their first-born son Blaine Walker. Blaine was instantly a fighter and is sure to have a bright future.

UPDATE!

Blaine Walker Lenox was born on April 13th at 5:26 am. Mommy got a little beat up and ended up having a c-section after 20 hours of labor @ Mount Nittany Medical Center in State College, PA. Daddy is training him to start drawing as soon as he can hold a pen, and they spent some time in the Studio together after Blaine got home from the NICU at The Geisinger Hospital in Danville, PA this week at Daddy’s home studio. Mommy and Blaine are doing great now, and Daddy is just… well the same. He was spared from most of the heavy lifting!

Congratulations, Jason!

JOSEPH! The Family Album

Creators Gary T. Becks and David Paul are taking their web comic JOSEPH! from screens all across the nets to the pages of an original graphic novel.

Since they stopped publishing the series at InvestComics.com it seems like everything has been quiet, but we can assure you that is not the case. So as the book develops we will be giving you updates to help whet your appetite for one of the most original stories to see print since King James commissioned the Holy Bible. And that’s one heck of a boast.

If you’re not familiar with JOSEPH! the story centers on the adoptive father of a very real modern day fourteen year old Jesus, who is only destined to be the savior of all Humanity. But for now Joseph must endure the hardships of raising a family without the assistance of the boy’s infamous mother. But things aren’t so easy for the boy who would be Christ. His little sister is the apple of her father’s eye and she is constantly annoying her older brother. Oh, and did we mention Jesus’ best friend is the son of the Devil? Well, one of his sons.

Here we have a page of highlights from several panels of the book.

And here’s a full page from the book. This particular gag was seen before.

Note the similarities and the differences. The book is going to make all the difference. Also of interest: haven’t we all been standing behind that guy at the counter? If you don’t remember him chances are… it’s you!

“The Gathering” One Sheet

From Jason’s site…

The good folks at Gray Haven Comics asked me to do this to help promote the Anthology I am working on a piece for. This will be out in October, the above piece will start making the rounds sooner – enjoy! I took some of the images from the comic and made a new image with a closeup of the antagonist who we didnt get a nice closeup of. I tried for a minimalist inking for a different spooky look, as opposed to my normal hyper black and white detailed approach.
